Exterior

The Mercedes-Benz GLB is closely related to this new EQB. The EQB takes the GLB’s body structure and adapts it to be used on an electric car. The new 2023 Mercedes EQB has a 111-inch wheelbase, and optional third-row seating. The EQB’s mug, like other EQ models including the newly revealed Mercedes EQS has a large faux grille that blends with accent lighting elements from the triangular-shaped, LED headlamps. Mercedes differentiates the EQB further from its GLB kin with model-specific wheels, a distinctive rear end treatment that includes a new fascia as well as full-width lighting that runs through the rear hatch.

Interior

The interior of the EQB is very similar to its gas-powered sibling. The GLB’s interior is fine enough to spend a lot of time in, provided you don’t get stuck in the cramped third row seats. The EQB will still offer a third row. The EQB will offer five seats in its standard configuration. The 2023 Mercedes EQB will have an optional third row that should increase the maximum passenger capacity to seven. Mercedes claims that the third row will provide enough space for people of up to 5′ 4″ height, but it is likely to prove difficult for many.

Engine

The first batch of Chinese-made EQBs will be capable of producing 288 horsepower, presumably from two motors at each axle. European-spec EQBs will be available with both front- and all-wheel drive powertrain options. The most powerful one packs more than 268 hp per Mercedes. Although the EQB will likely be equipped with the 66.5-kWh lithium battery that powers the EQA, a larger and more powerful battery pack is possible. To compete with competitors, a minimum driving distance of 200 miles is required.
